Julieta Mira

Julieta Mira has devoted her academic career to studying and researching the central human rights issues of “justice, memory, and truth”, which have a particularly unique and intense meaning for societies that are “dealing with the past”, such as her native Argentina. Other main topics of her research include justice reform, criminal justice, the sociology of law, the legal profession, and legal activism. She has a PhD in social sciences and studied sociology and law at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). Her master’s degree is in human rights and democratization, and was obtained from the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation (EIUC, Venice). She has also been a Professor of Human Rights at the National University of San Martín (UNSAM).
